We are so excited to meet you and can’t wait to help you smile!
At your initial appointment, you will meet with our treatment coordinator who will lead you through your first visit from start to finish. The appointment will usually begin with simple orthodontic x-rays and digital photos. Then our treatment coordinator will go over your dental and health history with you and report all of those details to Dr. Baum. Of course this is when you get a chance to meet Dr. Baum for the first time; we know you will love him! He will do a detailed orthodontic examination, take some time to get to know you, and then discuss all of the potential treatment options available. Since we realize every patient is different, Dr. Baum will also take the time to help you chose the option that is a best match for what you desire. Don’t worry if you feel like you need to hear it a second time. Our treatment coordinator will take some extra time to review the treatment with you again and to discuss what financial options are available for you to proceed. We know your time is valuable and efficiency is important. However, we want you to know that we will reserve plenty of time for you to have a chance to ask any and all questions and feel totally satisfied with the proposed treatment and the financial options.
During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. The appointment is really meant to be an open discussion and a chance for you to get to know Dr. Baum and our staff.
Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
What treatment procedures are available to correct the problem?
How long will treatment take?
How much will it cost?
What are the payment options?
